Description

These Classic Fudgy Brownies are made with rich dark chocolate and butter, delivering a mouthwatering flavor. Perfect for dessert lovers, they’re effortless to prepare in one bowl and ideal for sharing or indulging yourself!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 200 grams (1 cup) caster sugar or granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 115 grams (1/2 cup or 1 stick) unsalted butter
  • 200 grams (1 and 1/3 cup) dark chocolate (45-70% cocoa), broken into pieces
  • 70 grams (1/2 cup) plain flour or all purpose flour
  • 20 grams (1/4 cup) cocoa powder, sifted
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 75 grams (1/2 cup) chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 C (350 F) standard or 160 C (320 F) fan-forced. Grease and line an 8-inch square or round baking pan with baking paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the sugar and eggs for approximately 30 seconds until creamy and fully combined.
  3. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the butter and dark chocolate. Microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring, until melted and smooth.
  4. Add the melted chocolate and butter mixture to the egg mixture and whisk until smooth.
  5. Mix in the flour, cocoa powder, and salt until a thick, smooth brownie batter forms. Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan, smoothing the top.
  7. Bake for approximately 30-35 minutes until the top is shiny; the brownies should no longer wobble in the middle and a toothpick inserted should come out almost clean.
  8. Allow the brownie to cool in the pan completely before cutting into squares. Store at room temperature or refrigerate. They also freeze well.

Notes

Ensure to whisk the egg and sugar mixture until just creamy for the best texture.
For extra flavor, try adding nuts or a pinch of espresso powder to the batter for a mocha twist.
Store cooled brownies in an airtight container to maintain freshness.
