Description

These Valentine Ooey Gooey Butter Cookies are a delightful treat with their creamy texture and sweet flavor. Simple to make with buttery cream cheese and yellow cake mix, they’re perfect for sharing with loved ones during special occasions or just because!


Ingredients

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 package cream cheese (8 ounces), softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 box yellow cake mix (15.25 ounces)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • red and green sprinkles for decorating

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a mixing bowl, mix together the softened butter, cream cheese, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Gradually stir in the yellow cake mix until fully incorporated.
  • Form the dough into 1-inch balls and coat each in powdered sugar.
  • Arrange the coated balls on the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches of space between them.
  • Bake for 10 minutes, or until the edges turn lightly golden.
  • Remove the cookies from the oven and immediately decorate with red and green sprinkles.
  • Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Make sure butter and cream cheese are softened to room temperature for easier mixing.
These cookies can be stored in an airtight container for up to a week.
Feel free to use different colored sprinkles to match the occasion.
