Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- In a medium bowl, combine the granulated sugar, all-purpose flour, baking powder, and kosher salt, whisking to mix well.
- Gradually whisk in the whole milk, then add the melted unsalted butter and combine until the mixture is smooth.
- Pour the batter into a 10-inch cast-iron skillet or a comparable baking dish.
- In a separate bowl, mix the fresh or frozen blackberries with the remaining granulated sugar, lemon juice, and a pinch of ground cinnamon, gently tossing to coat the berries.
- Spoon the blackberry mixture over the batter evenly—do not stir.
