Description

These Easy Flapjacks are quick to prepare, featuring oats, golden syrup, and butter. A delightful treat that is chewy, sweet, and perfect for snacks or breakfast!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 225 g unsalted butter
  • 175 g light brown soft sugar
  • 175 g golden syrup
  • 400 g porridge oats
  • 100 g raisins

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 190ºC/170ºC fan and line a 9" square tin with parchment paper.
  2. In a heavy-based pan, add the butter, sugar, and syrup.
  3. Melt them together over low-medium heat until the sugar dissolves, ensuring it doesn't boil.
  4. Stir in the oats until they're fully coated with the butter-sugar mixture, but not too wet.
  5. If using, fold in the raisins as well.
  6. Firmly press the mixture into the lined tin using a spatula and a metal spoon.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown, with a slight wobble when removed from the oven.
  8. Allow to cool completely in the tin, then cut into portions and enjoy.

Notes

For added flavor, consider using mixed dried fruits instead of raisins.
Adjust baking time for a softer or crunchier flapjack based on your preference.
