- 1 ½ cups (300g) granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
- ½ cup (20g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 4 ounces (113g) unsweetened applesauce (about ½ cup)
- 2 ounces (57g) unsweetened chocolate, melted
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 ½ cups (186g) all-purpose flour
- 1 cup (170g) semi-sweet chocolate chips (Vegan ones, to keep it vegan)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a 9×9” pan with foil, then spray with cooking spray.
- In a large bowl, mix together the vegetable oil and granulated sugar.
- Stir in the vanilla, unsweetened cocoa powder, and unsweetened applesauce until well combined.
- Add the melted unsweetened chocolate and salt, stirring until the mixture is smooth.
- Gradually add the all-purpose flour and mix until incorporated, then fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips.
- Pour the brownie mixture into the prepared pan and bake for 25 to 28 minutes. Allow to cool before cutting into squares.
- For a lovely presentation, dust the top with powdered sugar.
