Description

These Vibrant & Chewy Tie-Dye Sugar Cookies are a colorful treat, featuring buttery goodness and festive sprinkles. Perfect for gatherings or a sweet treat anytime. Easy to prepare and a hit with all age groups!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 1 1/2 cups (285g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon (5ml) pure vanilla extract
  • 3 ½ cups (420g) all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon (2g) baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon (2g) cream of tartar
  • ¼ teaspoon (1.2g) salt
  • ½ cup sprinkles
  • Gel colors (Pink, Royal Blue, and Violet)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350° F and line a large cookie sheet with parchment or a silicone baking mat.
  2. Cream together the butter and sugar on medium speed until well blended. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, then mix until well combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the dry ingredients. Gradually add them to the butter mixture, beating on medium-low speed until the dough forms. Incorporate the sprinkles.
  4. Divide the dough into four balls, keeping one uncolored while dyeing the other three with your chosen gel colors. Use a spatula or your hands to blend in the colors.
  5. Combine all four doughs in a large bowl and lightly mix to achieve a tie-dye effect, avoiding overmixing to prevent blending colors.
  6. Use a medium or large cookie scoop to portion the dough, rolling each ball in granulated sugar or adding extra sprinkles. Place them about 2 inches apart on the baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes at 350° F. Let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For best results, use room temperature ingredients for a smoother dough.
